In the world of fabrics, velour is a symbol of luxury and comfort, but we are often confused: why do some pieces lose their luster after one wash while others last for years? As Fatima Nassif, I decided not to just touch the fabric, but to put it under the macro lens to reveal to you the truth hidden within the folds of these

هندسة النسيج: ما الذي تظهره الصورة؟

عندما ننظر إلى هذه الصورة الملتقطة بعدستي، نرى بوضوح "أعمدة" النسيج المتراصة. في القديفة عالية الجودة، يجب أن تكون هذه الألياف:

• عالية الكثافة: تلاحظون في الصورة عدم وجود فراغات كبيرة بين الخيوط، وهذا يعني أن القماش لن يتمدد بشكل مشوه مع الاستخدام المتكرر.

When we look at this photo taken through my lens, we clearly see the stacked “columns” of fabric. In high-quality shell, these fibers should be

High density: You can see in the picture that there are no large gaps between the threads, and this means that the fabric will not stretch in a distorted way with repeated use.

Pile regularity: the small, standing fibers are responsible for the soft texture; In this piece, the fibers appear in regular directions, 

giving that uniform shine when exposed to light

الاختبار الحقيقي: التجربة هي الدليل

كما ذكرتُ لكم دائماً، "التجربة هي الدليل الأوحد على الحقيقة". من خلال فحص هذه البجامة (القديفة)، اكتشفتُ أن سر صمودها أمام الغسيل يكمن في "قاعدة النسيج" التي تظهر في الصورة كشبكة متماسكة تحمل الألياف الناعمة. لو كانت هذه القاعدة ضعيفة، لرأينا تساقطاً للألياف أو ما يعرف بـ "تصلع القماش".

Fatima's advice to the smart buyer

When buying hoodie clothes, look for heaviness; The microscopic image confirms that the weight reflects the density of the yarn. If the fibers are far apart, know that the fabric will quickly lose its luster and will be affected by friction.
